Can Cock and Ball Rings Help With Ejaculation Control?

I have explored using cock and ball rings extensively for over a few decades, as aides in ejaculation control. “Yes,” they help me with ejaculation control, and “Yes,” I like them for other reasons too.
They can contribute to better ejaculation control, and there are many highly enjoyable, erotic features to discover with these rings, for both you and her, which I discuss below.
Generally speaking the rings feel sexy and sensuous when being worn, pulling you here, pushing you there, for added stimulation and new sensations. They also highlight and exaggerate your genitals in various ways, which can make them look sexy as hell!
The rings are used for enhancing pleasure, enhancing ejaculation control, enhancing erection, decoration, and punishment. And anything else you can think of.
How Can They Help With Ejaculation Control?
A quick internet search will reveal an astonishing array of devices made for the sacred male triumvirate of shaft, ball, and root. There are more styles, configurations, materials, and colours than you could ever try in a lifetime of sex, even as an escort.
Despite the wide array of choices, however, there are still only three places to put rings on men’s genitalia: the shaft of the penis; over the testicles; or around the entire genital package, at the base of the shaft, behind the testicles.
Putting a ring on each of the three different spots will produce its own affects. Explore each individually first, to see how it feels and what it does for you, and then try mixing and matching.
To cover the affects that this type of binding can have on each of the three areas, I will be referring to the “Basic Black Rubber Three-Ring Set,” which you can find at most sex shops, and which are sized to fit most men at the three standard positions:
- The Small Ring is for the base of the penis shaft,
- The Medium Ring is to go over both balls, clasping them at their base, just under the penis, and
- The Largest Ring is to be placed at the base of your entire genital area, with both testicles and your penis shaft sliding through it so it is against your body.
I prefer the hard rubber rings over the silicone rings, so I will referring to these throughout. The hard rubber does not have much give. It provides a very firm grasp, but does not squeeze like silicone, nor is it unforgiving, like metal.
Remember: How these rings fit you, and how they feel when on, and the effects they may or may not have on your penis, testicles, and your ability to enjoy sex or control your ejaculation are entirely dependent upon your personal preferences, body configuration, and tolerance for discomfort, pressure, new sensations, and possibly pain down there, even if temporarily.
Using rings is an exploration, like any sexual exploration. Be open to the experience, take from it what works for you, and leave the rest.
The Largest Ring
This ring sits right up against your body, at the base of your groin behind your testicles. It squeezes and applies pressure to the very root of your shaft, at its base (the bulbospongiosus muscle). The more excited and engorged you get, the greater the pressure.
The bottom of the ring squeezes shut the tube through which you ejaculate. But this will not stop you from ejaculating, and is not the reason it helps with control.
When it comes time to release, your ejaculation shall cum forth regardless of any cock ring(s) you may be wearing. But you may feel your ability to ejaculate is strongly inhibited at times because of this ring, and the others.
This ring helps with control by physically restricting the bulbospongiosus muscle. The ring can squeeze back as hard as the muscle tenses, and can slow or minimize involuntary contractions and spasms.
The ring also separates and isolates your balls and penis from the rest of your pelvic floor muscles. They can feel separated or “cut-off” (pardon the expression!) by the pressure from the ring. This allows a little freedom from the tensions those muscles contribute to ejaculation.
This physical restriction also creates swelling by trapping all the blood rushing toward your penis. Yes, you dick gets bigger!
It will swell to a slightly larger, obviously swollen state. The swelling can have a numbing effect on the nerve ending of your penis, as they are blocked, drowned out from the exaggerated blood supply, and over-stimulated by the sensations.

All this swelling, pulling, and squeezing creates a certain amount of pain as well. This too acts as a diversionary tactic to help with ejaculation control, as the pleasurable feelings are replaced by pressurized numbness and discomfort. This can dampen your edge.
Although all this may sound painful and uncomfortable, it isn’t! This ring can produce very pleasurable sensations when it fits well.
Be mindful of the fact that the top of the ring will hit up against your partner’s vulva, and quite possibly her clit when you put your penis in to the hilt. But go easy! Direct hits on her clit can cause pain as well as pleasure. Test it out gently at first.
Be warned that what this ring gives, it can also take away. Once you go soft with this ring on, it is possible that it can slow the blood from returning to your penis when trying to get hard again. As long as your sexual energy is high, this is not usually an issue.
How long you can keep this or any other ring on will depend on you. Monitor your genital comfort and health carefully as you play. Value safety over fun. If you are going blue, or your genitals are overly cold, or you have unpleasurable pain (so to speak!), give yourself a break.

My own experiences include falling asleep with this on and inadvertently wearing it all night. I’ve done this many times.
I have never experienced any side affect. The worst that has happened is some mild swelling and chafing. But that’s me. You may have a different reaction and different bodily needs.
The Medium Ring
This is the ring I use the most. I find it offers help with ejaculation control; it feels really good wearing it; she gets a kick out of it too.
Since the testicles don’t engorge during sex, this ring position has the benefit of not inhibiting the flow of blood in any way, which means you can wear it for long periods.
This ring can provide added ejaculation control by preventing your testicles from pulling up and getting ready to ejaculate.
You may notice that when you are getting close to your point of no return, and there’s a lot of pressure building to ejaculate, your testicles get very pulled up into your body. It’s as if they’re getting ready to slingshot your juice to the moon. Your sack can disappear entirely, or look shriveled and empty, with your balls sucked way up inside like a Sumo wrestler.
If you try to pull them down at this point, it is quite painful, as they are all tensed up and straining, rearing to go.
By wearing the ring around your balls, they are prevented from being pulled up in preparation to ejaculate. In my experience, this has helped me gain a slight edge. It seems to make it easier to hold off and stay back from the edge, as if you are being held back by the balls. Which you are!
Depending on your body, you can try wearing more than one ring at once by stacking them. If one relieves some pressure and adds control, will two work better?
Having the ring around your balls also has a highly erotic side-affect for the woman: because your balls are being gathered together at the base, they hang like a single pendulum, which you can swing back and forth by flicking your hips.
This makes your balls slap into her pussy when you pump, and sends extra shivers through her body.
She will love it, but be careful! This can also feel great for you too. So great in fact, that it can make you lose it with the flick of your hip.
Take it one hip flick at a time. Stop and regain control afterward, as it will be hot, and whatever control advantage it may offer, it can quickly take away!
Metal rings are the best for this, as they are heavy and pack a good wallop. Metal rings also have added downward pressure on your balls because of their weight. This too may enhance your ability to maintain ejaculation control, and will definitely enhance the pleasures of slapping against her.

The Small Ring
This is my least favourite ring. I do not get much pleasure from having it on, and I find it has minimal impact on ejaculation control. For, the added control is derived by the discomfort of the ring.
This ring will also block off your tube, but unlike the large ring which holds the bulbospongiosus muscle, this blockage is a little too far down the line, and past the testicles, so it does not produce the same affects.
This ring works by squeezing at the base (or wherever you place it on the shaft). It helps by creating pressure on your penis, which is uncomfortable. This discomfort is what helps with control, as it decrease your muscles’ enthusiasm, so to speak. You’re not as likely to be moving toward your edge when you’re feeling pain.
Of course the downside is, this ring can be painful.
Rings can be run all along your penis for different effects, and you can try fucking her like this. Placing a ring just under the head of your penis will definitely have an intense sensation for you both.
Sizing is crucial for this ring, as either too tight or too loose won’t work. They have to be just right.
Putting Rings On
Stretchy silicone is easy to get on, and leather rings usually have snaps (painful if you catch skin!) or Velcro, but the black rubber rings do not stretch much, nor does metal!
The smallest ring is tricky to place when you are soft, as it doesn’t stay on very well. But if you wait until fully erect, you may not be able to get it on. So your timing has to be just right for this one.
The largest ring is very difficult (impossible for me) to put on when fully erect, so get it on early!
“Balls first” is the way into this ring: first you slip both your balls through the ring, and then you squidge your dick through whatever slack you can find.
You may also need to wait for your erection to subside before you can remove the large ring, so don’t panic! What goes up, must come down.
For the middle ring, which goes around your testicles, it’s also best to place it before you are aroused, as testicles get tight and pulled up at this time, without enough slack to get through the ring.
I suggest pushing your balls through one at a time. You may find it easier to get the left in before the right, or to pull your empty scrotum sack through the ring, and then feed one ball through at a time.
You may have to squeeze your balls through, and it may be tight, and you may wince, but a man’s gotta do….
Cock Ring Safety
You can get yourself into some pretty tight spots with cock and ball rings!
There are some extreme cages out there. Other than the simple rings, which are cuttable, I do not make any recommendations.
Use these rings at your own risk, and at your own discretion. I am not a doctor, nor an expert on blood flow and potential risks of ring usage.
We are all have different bodies, and only you know what is right for yours.
The general consensus is, what goes up must come down. If you can get the ring on, you will eventually be able to remove it.
If you do feel stuck, it’s important not to panic or get scared. Take a moment to relax and calm yourself. It doesn’t usually take more than a few minutes for things to shrink down, as your own fear will be a big dick-downer. A cold shower may help.
There is not much they can do for you at the hospital. By the time you get there will probably be very shriveled from embarrassment, so make the trip if it helps.
I strongly suggest you go slowly with this exploration. Definitely start with the silicone, rubber rings, straps, rope, or leather, which can all be cut.
A word on steel rings: you can put all cock & ball rings into two categories: the ones made of steel, and all the other ones.
The important difference? You can’t cut steel when on your body.
I admit I do have a touch of claustrophobia, so the thought of having a metal cock ring at the base of my genitals, with my cock super hard, engorged, and throbbing while my balls are being squeezed and I feel like the whole package is going to explode, can be a little scary.
I have only ever put metal rings around my testicles. The reason being that testicles don’t get engorged during sex, so there is no blood flow being cut off.
Metal does has benefits. It is heavy, which feels good. Metal is hard, and therefore the most restrictive: it does not give a micro-metre!
I strongly recommend experimenting with cuttable materials before you get into metal, however, just to be sure you enjoy the experience.
As with all sex toys and explorations, monitor your health as you play.
